- Residence hall costs (*Stateview & Lawrence costs differ)
Living on campus is a great value. It’s easy to budget when you know exactly what your expenses will be. In the halls there are no hookup charges for phone or cable TV. There are no deposits or hidden costs. Meals are included, as well as some extra money on your ID card for late night snacks! Our residence hall costs are well below the national average, making them very affordable for students. The full academic year costs are approximately $5770. This includes everything (food, utilities, local phone, cable TV, on-line computer access, etc.). Lawrence Hall residents are assessed a minimal fee for the additional amenities (air conditioning, in-room sinks, adjustable modular furniture).
The exact cost will vary according to the meal plan that you choose. The rates for the 2008-2009 academic year are listed below:
- 2008-09 Rate Sheet
- Summer Rates & Information
- Campus Dining
- Residence Hall Application and Agreement (Sample to read and view only)
Students should apply on-line to our main home page or request an official application from our office
It is important to note that the university does not send out bills for tuition or room and board. It is the student’s responsibility to check their account online and to be aware of all payment deadlines. Access your bill.

Summer Housing
Accommodations in the residence halls are available for the summer. The 2008 summer housing rates per person are as follows:
- Double room for the summer $61.00 per week
- Single room for the summer $80.00 per week
Please note that single rooms will be made available only if space permits after the start of Summer Session I.
** New for Summer 2008-A limited meal pan option will be made available. Watch for more info coming soon. Kitchen facilities are available on each floor. Garvey Commons and Atwood Center are currently available on a cash basis. See the Atwood and Garvey Commons schedule for specific dates and times of when they will be open (times are limited in the summer).
Summer Housing eligibility:
- Students must be enrolled for classes in the Spring or the upcoming Fall semester. Students can also live with us during the Summer months if they wish to take a class or two. Please note that students do NOT have to be enrolled in classes during the summer in order to live with us as long as they meet one or both of the above requirements. If space should become an issue, preference for summer housing will be given to SCSU students taking classes during the summer before all other students.
- You must be current with all room and board payments or have a payment plan in place with the Residential Life office.
Please note that the halls are not air-conditioned so you may wish to bring a small fan (no personal air conditioners permitted).
Summer Housing applications are available in the Residential Life Office in March or email reslife@stcloudstate.edu for more information.
