We help educational institutions use land and buildings to achieve their mission.
Anderson Strickler, LLC (ASL) helps educational institutions use land and buildings to achieve their missions by providing real estate consulting and project development services. Through our experienced staff and a network of industry consultants, we can answer most any question about an institution's real estate requirements.
ASL has experience analyzing markets, evaluating operations and facilities, developing facility programs, determining financial feasibility, and creating implementation options. ASL offers these services individually or bundled, for new construction or renovation, for a particular project or for a comprehensive facility plan, and as a consultant or a project manager. In every case, however, we tailor our approach to the particular needs of the client.

Based on the work performed in the first two phases and in collaboration with the Division of Student Life and Development, develop a long range comprehensive housing facility plan for the university that is consistent with the mission of the Department of Residential Life and that compliments the overall university mission and future plans. Evaluate and define current and future campus housing needs, that include a review of current trends in new construction and renovation in the region and nationally, including sustainability and green environments. Include an analysis and recommendation that looks at public areas, student rooms, and service areas for various construction and renovation types. Evaluations and recommendations should contain a mix of living options and room types in line with current and projected future market demand. Evaluate and recommend facilities renovations required based on the assessment conducted and program recommended. Recommend budget plan changes in line with campus and MnSCU mandates.
Develop a plan for revising the living option mix and facilities modifications in line with that plan. Consider undergraduate needs, as well as subgroups of the SCSU campus that are not currently being served through campus housing, such as Greek letter organizations, students with disabilities and graduate student housing.
Outline a plan for addressing possible freshman residency requirements, and the impact on overall occupancy, any potential implications for enrollment and retention. Likewise, consider current subgroups of the SCSU campus that are not currently being served through campus housing, such as Greek letter organizations, students with families, and graduate student housing.
Recommend opportunities to distinguish residential living at SCSU apart from other regional institutions, and include market initiatives to promote these distinctions.
The Housing Facility Plan should synthesize the results of the previously identified tasks. The plan should also provide clear direction to the university for the best course of action to implement the recommendations for a successful student housing program.
