To receive your GI Bill benefits, you need to start the process by completing the VA Application Form for the benefit for which you may be entitled. Once this form is mailed to the Regional Processing Office, it will take 8 to 10 weeks to be approved. The VA forms and rate of pay are found at www.gibill.va.gov.

The V.A. Certifying Official can also provide you with this form and will require you to fill out another "in-house" form that indicates the number of credits you plan to take, your local address, phone, etc.

The “in-house” SCSU Veterans Enrollment (Fall/Spring) form can be downloaded and printed from this website by visiting our Administrative Requirements page . This form must be submitted each year or semester you attend.

Payment is made in the month following the month of school just completed, upon verification of your class attendance the last day of every month. This verification can be done by calling 1-877-823-2378 OR going to www.gibill.va.gov and clicking on WAVE. Verification is required for Chapter 30 (veterans), Chapter 1606 (guard and reserve members) and Chapter 1607 (REAP) before payment is made.

Payment is based on the number of credits taken and the length of the school term.
