Vision:
The SCSU Psychology Department strives to be a community of teacher-scholars dedicated to fostering a high quality education in psychological science through effective instruction, research, and applied experiences.
Mission:
The faculty of the SCSU Psychology Department strive for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Our rigorous graduate and undergraduate curricula are based on a scientific approach to understanding human behavior and cognition. Based on the student learning goals endorsed by the American Psychological Association, our program enables students to build a strong foundation of psychological knowledge and competencies - thinking critically, communicating effectively, understanding research methodology, and analyzing data - that will enable students to pursue career paths in human services, business, law, or advanced study in psychology and related fields.
