Applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the School of Graduate Studies
are referred to the Psychology Department for an acceptance decision.
The School of Graduate Studies requires:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum
of a 2.75 grade point average over the last half of undergraduate education
- Verbal
score of 480+ on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or a combined verbal
and quantitative score of 1,000+
- Score of 550+ (paper) or 213+ (computer)
on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), in addition to the
GRE, if you are an international student
- Three recommendation forms
Additionally, the Industrial-Organization Psychology program:
- Recommends that prospective students complete the following courses before
applying:
- Introductory
Psychology
- Industrial-Organizational
Psychology
- Statistics
- Research
Methods or Experimental
- Social
Psychology
- Recommends that prospective students have a strong quantitative
background
- Encourages all interested individuals to apply but will give
preference to applicants who have completed the recommended undergraduate
curriculum
- Has set an application deadline of March 1 for guaranteed
full consideration
