I-O program alumni, current students, and faculty came together in Minneapolis on March 26, 2013 for the first alumni gathering. This was a great opportunity to socialize with alumni and gave students the opportunity to discuss their current interests and future careers in the field of I-O Psychology.
The I-O program said their final farewell to Camila and Tania, the I-O International Exchange Students from Chile. Before departure, they received a Certificate to American Industrial Psychology. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
The SCSU I-O graduate program partnered with the University of Wisconsin Stout Applied Psychology graduate program to host a student-practitioner networking event in Minneapolis on February 6, 2013. I-O professionals from several prestigious local consulting firms including SHL and PDI Ninth House attended the event. Students had the opportunity to learn about the practice of I-O psychology and to ask questions about being a consultant in the field of I-O.
Faculty and students joined together to celebrate Halloween.
I-O students participated in a video conference with psychology club students from the University of Minnesota Duluth. The discussion centered on topics such as the field of I-O Psychology, applying to graduate school, making the adjustment from undergrad, study tips, and preparing for the GRE. I/O students also reflected on their personal experiences of the application process.
Cultural Awareness Night
Dr. Protolipac and students volunteered at Living Waters Church in Sauk Rapids for "Cultural Awareness Night". The event focused on providing school-age children with a cultural experience from which they sampled an array of international cuisines and learned about diversity in its many forms. I-O students prepared various dishes including Strawberry Lassi (India), Morrocan Couscous (Northern Africa), Tamales (Mexico), Bruschetta (Italy), and many more.
