Broad Field, Focused Learning

Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior. It's a broad field with ties to philosophy, biology, sociology, organizations, and even computer science. The aim of psychology is to learn why we behave the way we do and how to improve human functioning in many aspects of society.

Psychology majors can study different aspects of psychology, including thought, perception, feelings, learning, development, social interactions, and disorders.

We offer a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. A minor in Psychology pairs well with numerous majors such as Business, Criminal Justice Studies, Community Psychology, and Sociology. Courses are taught both on campus and in online learning environments.

The Department of Psychology at St. Cloud State University follows the educational outcomes developed by the American Psychological Association.

We strive to be a community of teacher-scholars dedicated to fostering an inclusive, high-quality education in psychological science through effective instruction, research, and applied experiences.
