The provost and vice president for academic affairs is the chief academic officer of the university and is responsible for advancing the academic and scholarly life of the campus. Working collaboratively with the deans, faculty and staff, the provost develops and administers academic policies, helps establish academic priorities, oversees the curriculum, encourages faculty and student research, supervises academic support and enrollment services, and assures compliance with system, state, regional and federal academic and educational policies.
The Special Advisor to the Provost for Faculty and Student Relations provides visionary and collegial leadership in planning and direction on behalf of the Provost.
The Associate Provost for Faculty and Student Affairs provides procedural oversight, leadership and implementation of academic curriculum, programs and policies as delegated by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, including faculty relations and student conflict resolution. The Associate Provost for Faculty and Student Affairs serves as the Provostâ€™s designee on academic and student affairs committees, collaborates with offices on campus to assess and develop effective academic policies and procedures, and provides day-to-day management of the Office of the Provost.
The Associate Provost and Dean of University College is charged with developing, leading and overseeing the universityâ€™s comprehensive approach to student recruitment, retention and success. The Associate Provost and Dean of University College is responsible for overseeing and supervising University-level efforts that support the undergraduate experience providing direction to a number of university-wide programs that serve undergraduate students and coordinating the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures related to undergraduate education to ensure the attainment of an integrated student experience for each undergraduate. In addition, the Associate Provost and Dean of University College is responsible for overseeing and supervising recruitment efforts for undergraduate domestic students.
At the direction of the Provost, the Associate Provost will provide advocacy for and leadership of graduate education, research and sponsored programs in a manner that leverages the complimentary relationship between graduate studies and research. Create and maintain an infrastructure to foster high quality scholarship research, and creative activity at the University. The individual would be responsible for all compliance, review and reporting associated with the conduct of research and scholarship and delivery of graduate education. Job also entails review and development of graduate program improvement and new programs as well as focus on recruitment and admission of graduate students in cooperation with graduate committee and other deans and academic departments. The successful candidate will be the University representative to all external constituencies regarding Graduate Education and Research. Complete other projects as assigned.
Ms. Meyer serves as chief accounting officer for the Academic Affairs unit regarding personnel budgets, work load analysis, budget modeling, and the academic affairs budget.
Ms. Abel provides administrative support to the Provost.
Ms. Glade provides administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assistant Vice President for Faculty Relations, and Special Assistant to the Provost. Duties include administrative assistance for campus curriculum process, policies, articulation agreements, general education program, external reviews, accreditation, requests from students asking for exceptions to policies, and classroom scheduling. In addition, Ms. Glade serves as the editor of the Undergraduate Bulletin.
