A brilliant mind
Kate Mooney's service skills extend beyond campus. She is chair of the board of directors of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, a $70 million social service agency that serves 300 communities.
At Texas A&M, Kate Mooney’s brilliance enabled her to stand out among doctoral students with Ivy League backgrounds. Mooney ‘84 had an undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University.
Now an accounting professor at St. Cloud State, Mooney gives students what she got from her undergraduate teachers – an education based on experiences and insights that go beyond textbooks.
She also serves on the Board of Accountancy, which examines, licenses and regulates certified public accountants in Minnesota. Mooney was reappointed to the board in 2008.
