Dream young, dream big
Johnson's math and science summer camps help students of color consider pursuing a college education.
For 20 years Robert C. Johnson’s math and science summer camps have delivered life-altering experiences to more than 2,500 young people. The camps serve demographic groups which have shied away from those fields. Johnson was recently honored with a Minnesota Minority Education Partnership Award for promoting success for students of color.
Johnson founded the camps in 1987, two years after joining the St. Cloud State University faculty. He is chair of the Ethnic Studies Department.
