Bequeathing a future
Jan and Harry Hoelscher
Harry Hoelscher ’65 was a teacher and successful investment adviser. When he retired, Hoelscher and his wife, Jan, established the Harry and Jan Hoelscher Endowed Scholarship.
Hoelschers also have a trust that includes St. Cloud State University as a beneficiary and a bequest to the University upon their deaths. “With these bequests, we feel satisfied that our gifts will continue to benefit students at SCSU for many years and we hope that this example will encourage others to feel as comfortable about supporting and aiding SCSU as we do,” Harry said.
The Hoelscher Scholarship rewards incoming freshman who have been active members of St. Peter’s Parish in St. Cloud, have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 and demonstrate financial need.
