The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System invites applications and nominations for President of St. Cloud State University. St. Cloud State University is a comprehensive university offering 175 undergraduate and graduate programs of study. Most, including all programs in the prestigious G. R. Herberger College of Business, have exceeded the criteria for national accreditation and professional acclaim. Classes are taught by professors who have a desire to mentor as well as instruct, to impart a lifelong love of learning as well as practical knowledge and job skills. 85 percent of the faculty have attained the highest academic level for their field, and 40 percent have international experience.

St. Cloud State University's 16,000 students share a 137-year heritage of excellence and opportunity at the campus on the Mississippi River. The first students came from neighboring farms and towns to learn how to teach Minnesota schoolchildren. Today's students come from every part of the state, the U.S. and 88 countries to prepare to excel in business, communication, health care, social services, and a wide array of fields. The University employs more than 1,500 faculty and staff and has a total budget of over $170 million.

As chief executive officer of the campus, the President reports directly to the Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System with delegated authority for the administration of the institution. The System is comprised of 32 state colleges and universities serving 370,000 students in credit and non-credit courses. St. Cloud State University's next President will be an experienced and successful leader, a visionary, a communicator and an administrator with a distinguished record of executive leadership.

It is preferred that applicants and nominees possess an earned doctorate, appropriate terminal degree, or academic credentials sufficient to engender respect from the academy and the community at large. The Search Advisory Committee will continue to accept applications and nominations until the position is filled. For best consideration, applications and nominations should be provided by January 2, 2007. An application should include a letter describing relevant experiences and interest in the position; resume; and names, titles, addresses, business and home telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of five references. Electronic submissions of materials are strongly encouraged.
