Presidential Search - St. Cloud State University

Search Advisory Committee Updates

February 5, 2007

The St. Cloud State University Presidential Search Advisory Committee, chaired by Metropolitan State University President Wilson G. Bradshaw, held its fourth meeting over the weekend of February 3-4, 2007, in Bloomington, MN, with Dr. Jan Greenwood of Greenwood & Associates attending. The committee met for approximately ten hours each day and interviewed a total twelve candidates.

The process of reviewing this impressive pool of candidates is continuing as planned.  Soon, the committee will begin making preliminary reference checks.

Once candidates have been invited to visit campus, the campus community and the community at large will have an opportunity to meet and interact with each candidate.  The committee has started to work on the schedule for these visits.

Of course, the committee remains at a very sensitive stage in the search process. Members continue to strive collectively to maintain the integrity of the search process, including the high level of confidentiality required to retain a high-quality candidate pool.  This is necessary in order to advance the long-term interests of St. Cloud State University and its community.  Committee members remain optimistic that their work will result in a recommendation by the Chancellor to the Board of Trustees in mid- to late spring.

The next committee meeting is scheduled for February 20, 2007.
