Science Activities

Our science curriculum is based on hands-on, experimental, cooperative-learning strategies, with an emphasis on students discovery and exploring natural phenomena. Therefore, most of the scientific activities and research occur on the Peck's Farm, an operation owned by Dr. John Peck, a biology professor at SCSU, and his wife Linda Peck. This is a very natural place, no indoor plumbing, an outhouse.  The Pecks also operate a Wildlife Refuge and Rehabilitation Center on their homestead.  The animals under care are used for educational purposes.

When the Pecks Farm is not available we use a local county park, Warner Lake Park in Stearns County, to conduct our science activities.
