Strategic Analytics & Management System (SAMS)
Access to SAMS is currently restricted to University administrators, department/program chairs and support staff, student relations coordinators, administrative directors and other stakeholders with a business need. To request access, contact the Office of Strategy, Planning & Effectiveness at email@example.com.
The Strategic Analytics & Management System (SAMS) is an institutional intelligence system that provides leaders with the information and analysis capabilities they need to make key decisions, to understand their responsibilities in strategy execution, and to track progress toward strategic and operational goals. SAMS will enhance the use of data in university planning and budgeting, integrate and streamline access to disparate data sources, and increase accountability to internal and external stakeholders.
Other Data Sources
Common Data Set (CDS)
The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.
Sections within the CDS include enrollment and persistence, first-time and transfer admission, academic offerings, student life, expenses, financial aid, faculty and class size, and degrees conferred.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
Click Here to access the IPEDS Data Center. St. Cloud State's UnitID is 174783.
IPEDS is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the U.S. Department’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). IPEDS gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs.
IPEDS provides basic data needed to describe — and analyze trends in — postsecondary education in the United States, in terms of the numbers of students enrolled, staff employed, dollars expended, and degrees earned.
