SEPTEMBER 20, 24, 1996

At the September 24th meeting the subgroups met for the entire time after the meeting was called to order.
- Minutes
The minutes dated September 6th and 10th were mailed to committee members and were accepted as distributed at the September 20th meeting.
L. Robinson distributed copies of the working agenda at the September 20th meeting.
- Dates and Times for Strategic Planning Committee Meetings
Not discussed.
- Reading List
At the September 20th meeting L. Robinson distributed Compete Globally, Thrive Locally Summary . At the September 24th meeting L Robinson distributed an article from U.S. News entitled America's Best Colleges. Both articles were added to the required reading list.
- Coordination of all SPC data gathering and time schedule for sharing
information gleaned. At the September 20th meeting L. Robinson distributed
Update Five which the committee reviewed. Under Step Seven the committee
agreed to omit the words cost and peoples. The committee also agreed
to list the Summary before the Steps The Internal Environment Subgroup
distributed their Core Questions. The committee agreed the best way
to reach staff and students was through focus groups which the committee
approved.
At the September 24th meeting the technology subgroup of the external working committee secured approval of an e-mail questionnaire to be addressed to the entire St. Cloud State community. This is to be done in addition to planned interviews.
- Fall Forums on Strategic Planning
At the September 24th meeting the Open Forums for Dialogue schedule was distributed. The forum originally scheduled for October 2, 7:00 p.m. was deleted from the schedule.
- Review Where We Are in the Strategic Planning Process
Not discussed. Carry forward to October 4th meeting.
