Faculty Improvement Grants: Short Term

  • Eligibility: Tenure-track, non-tenure track, qualifying fixed term or qualifying adjunct (>3 credits in the academic year)
  • Funds: Registration fees, travel, and per diem related to non-credit workshops or training programs 1 to 14 days in length
  • Maximum Award: $3,000
  • Deadlines and Time: 10/15/15 & 03/15/16 (4:30 PM)

Faculty Improvement Grants: Research

  • Eligibility: Tenure-track, non-tenure track, qualifying fixed term or qualifying adjunct (>3 credits in the academic year)
  • Funds: Creative achievement and/or the scholarly pursuit of knowledge greater than 14 days in length
  • Maximum Award: $10,000
  • Deadlines and Time: 10/02/15 (4:30 PM)

New Researcher Funds

  • Eligibility: Probationary faculty/staff within first 5 years of service
  • Funds: Scholarly activity that leads to peer-reviewed dissemination of work, or submission of an external proposal
  • Maximum Award: $4,000/individual or $8,000/multidisciplinary
  • Deadlines and Time: 10/01/15 (4:30 PM)

University Researcher Funds

  • Eligibility: Probationary or tenured faculty/staff
  • Funds: Development of preliminary results for proposal submission, or development of grant seeking skills
  • Maximum Award: $5,000/individual $10,000/multidisciplinary
  • Deadlines and Time: 10/01/15 (4:30 PM)

Saigo Endowment for Faculty and Staff Excellence Fund

  • Eligibility: Full-time permanent or temporary faculty and staff 
  • Funds: Scholarly activities, professional presentations, performances and exhibitions, research and creative endeavors, and publications
  • Award Amount: Supports costs not covered by other sources; awards range from $150-$300
  • Deadline and Time: 01/20/16 (4:30 PM)

Hellervik Prize

  • Eligibility: Tenured, probationary, and fixed term faculty who are not on sabbatical or leave
  • Funds: Research and scholarly activity which advances knowledge on issues of importance to students, college/school, university, and society
  • Maximum Award: $10,000
  • Deadline and Time: 01/21/16 (4:30 PM)

Student Research Funds

  • Eligibility: SCSU undergraduate and graduate students
  • Funds: Research activities, travel for data collection, and/or travel for presentation of results
  • Deadlines and Time: 10/06/15 & 01/22/16 (4:30 PM)

   IRB Dates

Applications requiring FULL review must be submitted at least TWO weeks prior to schedule meeting.

  • Student Research Colloquium: brings together students and faculty that are involved in scholarly and artistic activities. 
    • Date: 04/19/16
  • MnSCU Posters in St. Paul: Provides undergraduate students the opportunity to share the results of their work with legislators and other leaders in state government.
    • Date:02/24/16
  • MnSCU Undergraduate Scholars Conference: provides undergraduate students from MnSCU colleges or universities the opportunity to present their scholarly activity, and increase intercampus engagement for both faculty and students.
