Faculty Improvement Grants: Long-Term


Deadlines
Application due date and format to be announced at a later date. Please check back. The Research Grants Committee has proposed changes that need approval by the Faculty Senate and, if approved, will change the deadline and the application. Faculty will be notified if the changes are approved.

Spending Timelines
With limited exceptions, long-term grant awards must be spent during the next fiscal year (FY12), which will begin July 1, 2011 and end June 30, 2012. The March 18th round of grant applications gives the flexibility to start the project after the end of spring semester but before the start of the new fiscal year.

Supported Activities

  • Curriculum development
  • Writing
  • Study
    • Work on a dissertation
    • Pursuit of a terminal degree
    • Study in current or new discipline
  • Travel projects

Activities must be longer than 14 days and can occur during one or both summer sessions or for up to 20 weeks when a faculty member is not otherwise working or teaching at the University.
