Activities provided during Welcome Weekend are open for all new transfer, commuter & non-traditional students. We strongly encourage attendance of all students throughout our programmed events.

Commuter & Non-Traditional Student Meeting

8:00 pm Location: The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center
Meet other new commuter, transfer & non-traditional students at this casual event. Meet with Orientation Leaders & staff to answer questions about Sunday's orientation program & SCSU in general.

Opening Ceremony

9:00 pm The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center
This is the official kick-off to the 2013-2014 academic year for students.
**We are working to provide a link to the LiveStream of this program for those unable to travel to campus.

Halenbeck After Dark

9:30 pm - 1:00 am Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse
This late night event has free food, activities, music & giveaways! All new students are invited.

 

Sunday, August 25

*Note: Childcare is provided free of charge to SCSU students with young children attending Orientation. Care will be provided for children between the ages 6months-10 years at the Lindgren Childcare Center from 9am - 3pm to allow student-parents to engage in Orientation activities. In order to receive care, you must pre-register your children by emailing the names/ages of your children to fytp@stcloudstate.edu by August 20th. Pre-registration is required to ensure appropriate staffing is available. Drop-in care will not be available.

New Student Orientation

9:30 am sharp Atwood Mall
All new students and Orientation Leaders will meet on the Atwood Mall before 9:30 am to split into your Orientation Groups. Groups will experience Orientation together through a variety of programs, including:

SCSU 101: Becoming a Husky Presentation
Learn what it means to be a Husky in an entertaining and engaging program. Learn campus policies & expectations.

Brunch - Garvey Commons

High Energy Husky Event
Interact & meet other new students in this exciting & high energy event!

Orientation Groups
1 - 3 p.m.
Orientation Groups will have 2 hours of programming to meet other new students, find your classrooms, get introduced to student organizations, support services & events at SCSU. Programming will be based upon the Orientation Group you select following your Advising & Registration Day.
