New Student Orientation - St. Cloud State University

Join us for New Student Orientation!

What is New Student Orientation?
New Student Orientation consists of three experiences designed for new students, beginning with Advising and Registration Days during the summer before your arrival on campus, continuing with Husky Adventure Welcome Weekend when you arrive on campus and continuing through the first two weeks of classes with Husky Kick-off.

What is Husky Adventure Welcome Weekend?
Husky Adventure Welcome Weekend is a two-day on-campus experience prior to the start of fall semester, for all new first-year students, beginning Saturday, August 23. Don’t forget to check-in at the Welcome Booth just outside of Atwood Memorial Center between 11 and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23.  You will receive your specific orientation schedule and orientation group assignment when you arrive.

What is Husky Kick-off?
Husky Kick-off is a two week period after the start of classes filled with social and community-building activities designed to continue students’ introduction to the University, campus life, and the greater St. Cloud community.

When do classes begin?
The first day of classes is Monday, August 25.

What Will Happen During Welcome Weekend?
Welcome Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for you to become familiar with all that SCSU has to offer.  It’s a time to make new friends, meet SCSU faculty and staff members, and get acclimated to your new community.
Our program will provide you with the information and knowledge you need to be successful in your first year at SCSU.  Welcome Weekend is our way of acquainting you with YOUR University.
If you have questions about Welcome Weekend, please contact First Year Experience at (320) 308-2941.

What if I am a non-traditional new or transfer student coming to St. Cloud State University for the first time?
Non-traditional and Transfer students are invited to a special welcome event tailored to meet your orientation needs!
