Online Course Design

Design, Build, Teach: This site is for St. Cloud State faculty designing new online and hybrid courses, or translating face-to-face courses to an online or hybrid format. We have gathered planning guides and other tools to streamline creating an online course. By following a systematic process, instructors can create courses based on pedagogical goals, using appropriate structure, content, activities, and assessments. The process can be divided into three phases: Design, Build, and Teach.

The best way to determine how to offer a distance learning course is to consider these items:
