Both meetings were called to order by L. Robinson.
L. Robinson distributed copies of the working agenda at the November 1st meeting.

The minutes dated October 18th and 22nd were mailed to committee members and were accepted as distributed at the November 1st meeting.

- President Grube's Charge to the SPC
Gene Gilchrist was a guest at the November 1st meeting and addressed President Grube's request for a review of recreation, anthropology and American Studies. Gene suggested the committee set a target date in mid-December by which time the committee agrees on the charges they can come to an agreement on or do justice to and send those on to the President. The President needs time to respond before the NCA visit in mid-January.
Committee members also questioned the role the Strategic Planning Committee would play after the NCA process was completed. Gene stated that the President would make a recommendation after the NCA visit.
- Discussion on SPC data gathering (surveys, etc.) and results sharing.

- Tentative Agenda for Retreat on 11/1/96.
Committee members approved the tentative agenda for the 11/11/96 retreat at the Kelly Inn.

- Other Loose Ends
Steve Ludwig, Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management, has replaced B. Tschida as a strategic planning staff member.
L. Robinson will type up a summary of the October 31st campus town meeting requested by MnSCU.
- The next scheduled meeting is Friday, November 19, 1996 at 7:45 AM, North Voyageur Room.
