The minutes were distributed for review. The minutes were accepted as distributed.
L. Robinson distributed copies of the working agenda, draft of vision statements and President Grube's Opening Address to the University community.

- Revisit DRAFT Vision Statement
The following is the second draft of the Vision Statement by majority vote: SCSU IS TO BE A LEADER AND A DRIVING FORCE IN IDENTIFYING, CREATING AND PROVIDING INTELLECTUAL, CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES THAT ANTICIPATE THE NEEDS OF A RAPIDLY CHANGING [GLOBAL] ENVIRONMENT.
- Group Reports
Institutional Values B. Langen contacted Steve Frank to do survey. Discussion was had as to whether there would be any persons on campus who would volunteer to do the survey. B. Langen agreed to send an e-mail message to the campus community requesting a volunteer.
Internal Environment Group hasn't met since retreat. Would have 5 strengths and weaknesses by 7/12.
External Environment Y. Getchell received information from state demographer and SWAT paper. A. Wilson reported survey was near final form. J. Pehler stated they would be contacting Alumni Foundation and external community members.
- Other Loose Ends
The following ways to communicate with the campus community were discussed by the committee: informing constituencies, e-mail, campus opening day activities, all staff classified conference, Unews, Chronicle, all campus meetings in various areas on campus.
- The next scheduled meeting is July 15, 1996 at 2:30 PM, North Voyageur Room.
