Faculty/staff giving breaks records
Friday, June 26, 2009
The 28th annual faculty/staff campaign to raise funds for St. Cloud State programs and scholarships broke a number of records this year ‒ dollars raised, number of donors and participation rate.
The drive this spring raised more than $250,000, 20% more than the 2008 drive and double the amount raised in 2007.
The number of contributors – 620 faculty members, staff and emeriti faculty and staff – included an increase of 92 new donors compared to last year.
Those contributors represented 32% of eligible donors, up 4%. Faculty and staff in the College of Education and the G.R. Herberger College of Business helped drive that increase by achieving milestones of their own: respective participation rates of 50% and 77%.
The theme of this year’s drive, “Changing Students’ Lives,” resonated with faculty and staff who are aware that, for some students, the scholarships funded by the drive can make a huge difference.
