Retiring professor leaves legacy
Wednesday, May 26, 2010
On the music department’s website, Steven Fuller, retiring professor of music, choral, humanities and graduate coordinator is quoted as saying, “I can’t imagine a world without music.”
In his endeavor to make sure that doesn’t happen, Fuller, who is retiring after the spring semester, is leaving a legacy with the institution where he taught and mentored future musicians by providing the seed money for the Fuller Residency Fund. The $50,000 endowment provides funds for establishing professional musicians for a residency at St. Cloud State. This ensures that, for at least St. Cloud State, we can imagine that there will always be music.
In his announcement, Fuller cited his gratitude to the department for the opportunities he was provided while teaching at St. Cloud State, including multiple international choir tours and two terms spent at the Alnwick Castle in England.
