No downturn here

Despite the economic downturn, today’s job market shouldn’t scare the 13 students in the first graduating cohort of the St. Cloud State master of science in regulatory affairs & services degree program. The regulatory program is the first in the nation designed for the medical device industry, which has a high need for qualified regulatory professionals. At least four of the students who will earn their degrees this summer have already been hired into new regulatory jobs at local medical device companies.
“I think we need to call this the never unemployed master’s program,” said Brian Rembish, president of Medtech Leadership, who helped launch the St. Cloud State program taught at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minn.
The third cohort of the program, which was launched in September 2007 with 30-year Medtronic regulatory affairs veteran Chuck Swanson at the helm, begins this fall. More information on the program at www.stcloudstate.edu/RAS
