Rising star makes partner

Alumnus David E. Scouton ’94, Burnsville, Minn., has been named a partner in national litigation firm Foley & Mansfield, PLLP.
Earlier this year Scouton was named to the 2009 Rising Stars list compiled by Minnesota Law & Politics. No more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are named to the list comprised of up-and-coming Minnesota attorneys under the age of 40. This is his fourth appearance on the list.
Scouton focuses his practice in the areas of product liability, construction defect and toxic tort litigation with a special emphasis on asbestos cases. He also works in the firm’s pro bono services group representing low-income clients in association with the Volunteer Lawyers Network and Minnesota Legal Aid Society. Foley & Mansfield, which has more than 100 attorneys, is headquartered in Minneapolis with offices in Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, St. Louis and San Francisco.
