Generous donors renovate Centennial Hall

Donations totaling more than $2 million from more than 1,900 friends and alumni of the University, as well as funding from the state of Minnesota, have made possible the renovation of Centennial Hall, a transformation that was celebrated with a reception and program April 24.
Alumnus Gary Anderson '94, CFO of Winthrop Resources, owned by TCF, and his wife, Jodi, contributed $10,000 to the campaign. On May 16 TCF Bank made a $50,000 pledge. TCF has long partnered with the University – hosting the St. Cloud State Campus Card program, locating a campus bank in Atwood Memorial Center and giving $10,000 in scholarships annually to St. Cloud State students. Alumnus Gary Petrucci '65 and his wife, Maureen '65, provided the final $50,000 gift necessary to complete an anonymous challenge grant of $300,000.
Centennial Hall now provides new quarters for the G.R. Herberger College of Business, the Advising Center, Career Services and the Husky Bookstore. The building also houses Student Disability Services, the Multicultural Academic Center, the Honors Program, the philosophy department, additional program offices and 40 classrooms and labs.
