Dollars do double duty

A charitable gift annuity established by Professor Emeritus Alyn Dull and his wife Anna, St. Cloud, Minn., is providing retirement income to the couple now and will give scholarship support to math majors in years to come.
The Dulls chose to give a charitable gift annuity because they will receive an agreed-upon return for however long they need the retirement income. After they’ve passed away, their gift will be used to help deserving students fund their education.
Alyn taught mathematics at St. Cloud State from 1956-86, a period that included 10 years as department chair and growth that required a four-fold increase in faculty members to the current 28. He was instrumental in establishing the Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics/Computer Networking Applications Fund that has been awarding scholarships to students in those programs for the last 35 years.
Anna served for 10 years as resident director of Whitney House, at a time when it was a dormitory for freshman girls, followed by more than 10 years in admissions and records. The two were married in 1947.
