SCSU Today Campus dining remodeledMonday, October 1, 2007 Garvey Commons, the university’s student dining hall, received a $1.5 million makeover that was completed in time for the arrival of students this fall. The makeover was designed to improve traffic flow, service to students and the dining experience. The look and color scheme were changed to create a warmer, more comfortable atmosphere and new features were installed, including a: • Grab n' go station for quick pickup meals • Sautee station, where students can customize their meals • Stone pizza oven • Breakfast nook and a variety of other seating options to facilitate student interaction. Last year Sodexho, the campus dining provider, served an average of 30,000 meals a week at Garvey Commons, bringing to well over a million the number of meals served during the year at all campus venues under the Sodexho umbrella. |
