Twenty-thousand financial service professionals from around the world came across the byline of an SCSU student when they read the March edition of a key journal in their discipline.
Keith Moeller is the lead author of an article, “Ethical Long-Term Care Planning: Applying the Society’s Code,” that appeared in the Journal of Financial Planning Service Professionals. The paper was a result of research Moeller did on his way to a master’s degree, which he earned from the SCSU Herberger College of Business fall semester.
Moeller’s interest in long-term care planning grew during his internship with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Minneapolis, where he is a certified financial planner. He said his research showed that demographics and the funding of long-term care “are on a collision course,” and discussed the evidence and possible solutions in his professional paper. Moeller worked in collaboration with Dr. David Christopherson, who teaches in the SCSU Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate.
