Husky Productions is honored with a College Sports Media Award for live broadcast of a men's Husky Hockey series with University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Accepting the student division Live Game and Event Production Award were Matt Szymanski, Sauk Rapids, and Justin Haugesag, Bloomington.  

Husky Productions is a division of UTVS Television, the student-run campus station cablecast to St. Cloud and surrounding areas on Charter Cable channels 21 and 87.

Szymanski is the station manager. Haugesag is the programming director.  

UTVS produces a dozen regular programs. Derrick Silvestri '06 is the advisor and studio manager. Brian Stanley is executive producer of Husky Productions.

The College Sports Media Awards, May 29-30 in Atlanta, honored the best in video production at all levels of college sports: student productions, athletic departments, regional networks and national networks.

Sponsoring organizations are New York-based trade organization Sports Video Group and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

More than 90 productions in four categories were nominated: national networks and professional, regional sports networks and local cable providers, collegiate athletics and collegiate students.

The other awards in the student division went to University of Oklahoma, University of South Carolina and Ball State University.
