Spring Commencement

Student journalist Lindsey Branwall and Victor Bertrand, student manager of The Underground, will deliver remarks at the May 12 Spring Commencement in Halenbeck Hall gymnasium.

Graduation ceremonies are 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The morning ceremony is for graduates of Herberger Business School, School of Health & Human Services, Center for Continuing Studies, School of Public Affairs and School of Graduate Studies.

Delivering an address will be Bertand, an international student from France, former president of University Program Board and graduate of the Herberger Business School.

The afternoon ceremony is for graduates of School of Education, College of Liberal Arts, School of the Arts, College of Science & Engineering and School of Computing, Engineering & Environment.

Branwall, Shakopee, an award-winning news director for UTVS Television, will speak. She is a graduate of the College of Liberal Arts. Among her awards is a 2013 regional Emmy for a story about Husky Football's fateful 2010 season.

The Wind Ensemble will perform music throughout the ceremony, including Edward Elgar's processional masterpiece "Pomp and Circumstance" and Howard Hanson's 1954 wind band standard "Chorale and Alleluia."

Presenting the Class of 2013 will be Devinder Malhotra, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Conferring degrees will be President Earl H. Potter III.
