MacNaughton Cup, awarded to the WCHA regular-season champion.
MacNaughton Cup champion men's Husky Hockey will host the University of Alaska Anchorage in a best-of-three series in the first-round playoffs of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) March 15-17 at the National Hockey and Event Center (NHEC).
St. Cloud State will celebrate the WCHA regular-season title with a post-game presentation of the 100-year-old MacNaughton Cup following the final game of the playoff series.
The cup will be on display in the south concourse of the NHEC during the Saturday night playoff game.
Game times are 7:37 p.m. Friday, 7:07 p.m. Saturday and, if necessary, 7:07 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets at scsutickets.com are $12. Those who hold season tickets aleady have their tickets.
The first 100 St. Cloud State students can purchase a discounted ticket for $5. These student tickets must be purchased in person at the Athletic Ticket Office in the NHEC. A valid SCSU I.D. is required.
The series will be televised on Charter Cable Channel 87 and also available around the region on the Charter Extra channel. The games will be carried on Comcast Cable channel 999 in the Twin Cities.
The Huskies clinched home ice for the playoffs March 1. Coach Bob Motzko's team earned the championship and top seed in the playoffs with a March 8-9 split with University of Wisconsin.
St. Cloud State holds a 21-14-1 season record. Its WCHA mark is 18-9-1.
