Train to be a supporter of the tobacco-free campus policy that takes effect Aug. 1.

Student Health Services (SHS) is offering free training to individuals willing to educate others about St. Cloud State becoming tobacco-free.

Training is noon-1:30 p.m. May 17 in the Mississippi Room of Atwood Memorial Center. To register, email Lunch is provided.

In addition to the trained SHS advocates, signage, print materials and other means of communication and education will be used to inform the campus community and visitors about the policy.

Exceptions for tobacco use will be allowed in accordance with the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act (PDF):

  • Traditional Native American ceremonies, scientific studies and theatrical productions. 
  • Private vehicles on university property, as long as respect for individuals and the environment is demonstrated.
