St. Cloud State University was proud to hear that St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman proclaimed Nov. 9 as Bob Goff Day.
It was 45years ago that Goff, a St. Cloud State graduate, cofounded Coleman and Goff Advertising, now known as Goff Public, with business partner Nick Coleman, who later became a legendary state Senate Majority Leader. Mayor Coleman is Nick Coleman’s son and a Goff Public alumnus.
Goff, ‘58 has been at the forefront of public relations and public affairs throughout his professional life. He became one of the state’s early public relations practitioners when he began pitching stories to newspapers about clients who could not afford expensive ad campaigns.
“Bob has been a visionary business owner and leader in the communications profession in the Upper Midwest,” said Chris Georgacas, who succeeded Goff as president of the firm in 2004. “His legacy and the business principles which he established 45 years ago still greatly influence the work we and others do today.”
