Singer, songwriter and guitarist Gary Louris of the Jayhawks is performing 7:30 p.m. June 11 at the Historic Paramount Theatre in St. Cloud.

The $8 tickets are available at paramountarts.org or by calling the Paramount Box Office at 320-259-5463.

The concert is sponsored by KVSC 88.1FM with funding made possible through the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund

Best known for his leading role with the Jayhawks, Louris is a one of the most critically acclaimed and popular musicians to emerge from the Minneapolis rock music scene.

The band produced a handful of hits from 1992 to 2003, including "Waiting for the Sun,"  "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" and "Save It for a Rainy Day."

Louris' songs have been recorded by the Jayhawks, the Dixie Chicks and Nickel Creek.

His 2008 release "Vagabonds" marked Louris' formal launch as a solo artist.

Also on the bill June 11 is alternative country singer-songwriter Haley Bonar.

City Pages said of the South Dakota raised and Minneapolis shaped artist: "To watch Bonar perform is haunting and humbling; rarely is it so keenly obvious that an artist is doing precisely what they were born to do.”

Bonar (rhymes with honor) is touring in support of her 2011 release "Golder."
