Amanda Bardonner, Student Government president for 2010-11.
St. Cloud State University Student Association President Amanda Bardonner is among 135 college student leaders nationwide named by Campus Compact as Newman Civic Fellows.
The award recognizes college student leaders nominated by their college or university presidents who make a difference in their communities. She is one of nine Minnesota honorees.
Bardonner, a junior majoring in international business and marketing, helped transform Student Government at St. Cloud State during the 2010-11 academic year and played a leadership role in a campuswide discussion about increasing student fees to provide more funds for St. Cloud State athletics. The referendum that followed succeeded with a record-setting voter turnout. She also served on the St. Cloud City Student Advisory Committee.
Bardonner will continue representing students at a broader level in the coming year. She recently was elected to serve as state chair for the Minnesota State University Student Association.
Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents committed to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education.
