Thursday, January 13, 2011
The Winter Volunteer and Service-Learning Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the main lounge of the Atwood Memorial Center.
Volunteering is a great way to become involved in the community, but getting started with the right organization can be challenging.
More than 30 nonprofit organizations will be at St. Cloud State for the Winter Volunteer and Service-Learning Fair, to connect students, faculty, staff and other members of the community interested in local service opportunities to agencies needing volunteers.
The fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the main lounge of the Atwood Memorial Center.
Designated to give prospective volunteers an opportunity to learn about St. Cloud area’s many nonprofit agencies, the fair also allows community organizations the chance to interact with potential volunteers.
Some of the agencies that will have representatives available to provide information and answer questions about volunteer openings include: Anna Marie’s Alliance, St. Cloud Hospital, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central MN, VA Medical Center, St. Benedict’s Senior Community and Tri-County Humane Society.
The fair is hosted by St. Cloud State Volunteer Connection.
