Donate, don't ditch

Monday, April 26, 2010

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State University is making an effort to reduce the amount of waste that its students create annually as they move from one rental unit to the next.

The "Donate! Don’t Ditch" program, which was created to encourage students to donate items instead of throwing them away, will run from April 26 – May 7. Students have the opportunity to drop off usable electronics, non-perishable food, clean clothing and other household items at residence hall lobbies and in Atwood Memorial Center room 139.

A large-item drop off for furniture and larger electronics will be held on May 2 from 10 a.m. – 3p.m. in M Lot, located at the corner of University Drive and 5th Avenue South on St. Cloud State’s campus.

All usable items will be donated to Catholic Charities and other local organizations.
