Ratha is Fulbright Scholar

Artatrana Ratha, professor of economics, is a recipient of a Fulbright Foreign Scholarship. The 12-member board of the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship committee chose Ratha for work he will do in the country of India.
The Fulbright program, named for the late Sen. J. William Fulbright, is the largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, and teaching in university, elementary and secondary schools.
Ratha is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. His research interest is in macroeconomics, monetary economics and international trade.
The department of economics at St. Cloud State offers undergraduate and graduate degrees emphasizing a broad-based, analytic approach to economics. Offering bachelor of arts in economics and in business economics and a bachelor of science in mathematical economics, the department also offers a master’s of science in applied economics. Students often begin careers in government and business and while others attend graduate schools in economics, law, and business.
