The Sans Souci Quartet will be performing on MNL
Another eclectic lineup of local musicians will hit the airwaves Monday nights this fall in a tradition that has brought popular acts like Mason Jennings, The Pines and Charlie Parr to our campus.
September 14 marks the start of a new season and the 18th birthday of KVSC’s Monday Night Live (MNL) program. Tune in to 88.1FM each Monday from 10-11 p.m. to hear local musicians live from the KVSC performance studio.
The Sans Souci Quartet is the first band to grace the KVSC Performance Studio in season 18. The Sans Souci Quartet hails from Minneapolis and picks traditional bluegrass instruments in a not so traditional way.
This season’s lineup includes artists in genres ranging from alterative rock and pop to bluegrass and Americana. Rooster McCabe, set for November 2, tastefully infuses funk, rock and reggae into an up-beat blend that propels them into explosive performances.
Being featured on Monday Night Live is an excellent opportunity for local musicians wishing to gain exposure to a broad and eclectic audience. KVSC’s broadcasting radius covers 70 miles and serves countless central Minnesota cities. The station also provides live Web streaming via its Web site.
In addition to being aired live on 88.1FM, MNL broadcasts are simulcast on UTVS-TV. The MNL production is completely student run and produced.
