Golden Key chartered on campus

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud State University hosted the chartering of Golden Key International Honour Society in a ceremony at April 26 on campus.

The keynote speaker was Christine Imbra, professor of Higher Education Administration at St. Cloud State.

Golden Key International Honour Society was founded in 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia. The global nonprofit organization provides not only academic recognition to top-performing students in the top 15% of their class, but also leadership opportunities, community service, career networking, and scholarships.  The Society has over 370 chapters at colleges and universities in the United States, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa.  Membership into the Society is by invitation only to students in all fields of study. In attendance at the chartering ceremony will be St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III, Provost Michael Spitzer, Vice President for Student Life and Development Wanda Overland, Associated Vice President for Student Life and Development and Golden Key co-advisor Michael Gillilan and  Center for Student Organizations and Leadership Development Director and Golden Key co-advisor Matt Trombley.
