Graduate commencement, hooding May 8

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Faculty member Judy Foster, professor of English at St. Cloud State University, will give the commencement address at the St. Cloud State Graduate School Commencement and Hooding Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, in Halenbeck Hall on campus.

Foster earned her master’s in English from the University of Virginia and her doctorate from the University of Denver.  Foster, who first joined the St. Cloud State faculty in 1979, plans to retire this year.

More than 225 students will receive degrees during the ceremony.  Dennis L. Nunes, dean of the St. Cloud State School of Graduate Studies, will present the graduating class, and St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III will confer the degrees.  St. Cloud State’s Wind Ensemble and the University Orchestra will perform during the event.

St. Cloud State has one of only four business colleges in Minnesota nationally accredited at the undergraduate and graduate level and is one of the largest producers of new educators in the country.  The university offers 17,000 students more than 200 undergraduate and graduate programs.
