Aviation students hosting open house at airport

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The public is invited to the 13th annual "Airport Day" at the St. Cloud Regional Airport from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19.  Admission and parking are free; concessions will be available for purchase on the grounds.

The St. Cloud State Department of Aviation and the St. Cloud State Aviation Ambassadors are organizing this year’s event with a focus on “Introducing Youth to Aviation.”

Educational and fun activities on the 19th will include a chance to fly a flight simulator, learning how to preflight an aircraft before flight, familiarization with basic aircrafts parts and their operation, games, and Aviation Merit Badge activities for Scouts.

Degree-seekers in the aviation program at SCSU are offered a choice of study in three areas to prepare them for professional careers in the aviation industry:  professional flight, aviation management, and aviation operators.  They also receive a multi-disciplinary background in science, technology, business and the liberal arts.  There are more than 300 students enrolled in aviation classes.
