Series designed to create confident young women

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Campus Recreation at St. Cloud State University is hosting a three-Saturday series of workshops designed to help young women ages 8-13 make healthy decisions that will lead to personal strength and confidence.  Students can take one, two or all three "Girls in Action" workshops to be held from 9 a.m. to noon the Saturdays of Feb. 7, 14 and 28.

The workshops, also aimed at bringing out young women’s creative minds and adventurous souls, will feature such program components as fitness and movement, leisure activities and speakers promoting strong self-worth.  Activities will include water aerobics, dance line instruction, funk dance, yoga, rock climbing, belaying, snowshoeing and creative project development.  Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a healthy lifestyle incentive program in which they can earn prizes.
