Register for Speed Mentoring sessions
Monday, January 26, 2009
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Fast-paced networking between experts and students makes its St. Cloud State University debut in February at Atwood Memorial Center (AMC).
Speeding Mentoring will bring mentors and mentees together for 10-minute sessions between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 8 in Atwood Theatre.
The event is a new offering by the Alumni Mentoring Program, which helps students connect with experienced, knowledgeable alumni, while providing alumni meaningful ways to give back to St. Cloud State.
Meeting experienced professionals can give students a head start on a job search, according to Kristy Modrow-Ullah, interim assistant director of Alumni Relations.
"It gives them an edge," said Modrow-Ullah.
Students can register online to participate in Speed Mentoring, which will consist of eight 10 minute rounds. Students can choose which rounds to attend and which mentors to meet. When students are not with mentors, they can attend sessions at the Leadership Development Institute, an event held simultaneously in AMC.
Meet some of the mentors -- including a chief financial officer, vice president and high school principal -- who serve the Alumni Mentoring Program.
