An address by President Earl H. Potter III kicks off Aug. 20-22 convocation activities and marks the start of the new academic year.
St. Cloud State's annual assembly of employees, ideas and information features meals, orientation sessions. meetings, workshops, discussions and receptions. Convocation's chief focus will be campus work toward accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
Potter's 9 a.m. Aug. 20 Ritsche Auditorium address will include remarks about MnSCU's "Charting the Future" strategic plan and the University's "Great Place to Work" workplace-improvement effort.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system aims to increase access, affordability, excellence and service by improving collaboration among the 31 system schools. Learn more about "Charting the Future."
A survey and campus conversations last school year launched "Great Place to Work," an effort to improve employee work conditions at, and employee attitudes toward, St. Cloud State.

Following the address, Potter will host a 10:15-11:30 a.m. ice cream social on Atwood Mall.
Information sessions are set for Aug. 21-22 in Atwood Memorial Center and Miller Center, including a first-draft presentation of institutional learning outcomes for HLC accreditation. View the convocation schedule (PDF).
More than 40 displays at the Aug. 21 Teaching & Learning Fair will showcase how employees engage students. The fair is 12:30-2:30 p.m. on second floor of the Miller Center. View the fair brochure (PDF).
New faculty participated in Aug. 18-19 orientation activities managed by CETL and the Office of Human Resources. CETL is the Center for Teaching and Learning, St. Cloud State's faculty-managed engine for inquiry and critical engagement.
