Lindsey Gunnerson, junior biomedical science major from Maple Lake Alex Bryson, junior engineering major from Appleton, Wis. 

Lindsey Gunnerson, a junior women's studies major from Maple Lake, will be president of Student Government during the 2014-15 school year.

Joining Gunnerson in leadership will be vice-president elect Alex Bryson, a junior mechanical engineering major from Appleton, Wis. Bryson was named most valuable male athlete of the 2013-14 Husky Swim & Dive team.

The tandem was elected, along with 17 senators, via 967 ballots cast this week by students. Gunnerson and Bryson earned 533 votes. Their opponents, Dustin Johnson and Brian Kunz, received 370 votes. There were 64 no votes.

Gunnerson, who currently serves as vice president, will succeed Eric Petersen, a senior political science major from Eden Prairie.
