The 27 student-athletes of men’s Husky Hockey last night won the Penrose Cup, symbol of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) league title.

The Huskies defeated Colorado College 4-1 March 8 in Colorado Springs and were awarded the Penrose Cup in a locker room ceremony. Coach Bob Motzko '87 and the 21-8-5 Huskies finish alone atop the NCHC standings with 48 points.

The nationally ranked Huskies host Miami University for the first round of the NCHC playoffs, March 14-16 at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. 

Motzko is a leading candidate for the Herb Brooks Coach of the Year Award, presented by the NCHC.
